Easter eggs with old silk ties. Fun to do!

Image
We did these Easter Egg for Easter.  You get Silk ties and tie them around the egg with a layer of white cotton then boil them in water and a little vinegar.    I saw it on Martha Stewart and went to the thrift store to find the ties. The ties that snag your fingers are usually silk. The greatest fun is unwrapping the eggs when they have cooled. You never want to eat them because they are so pretty. You can also buy silk ties cheep on line.  East is coming!!

Free quilt pattern and poem.

Image
I received this quilt pattern yesterday at church from a lovely Sister that is in down from the north as snow birds. She also gave me the poem below so I just included them with the pattern. I can't wait to try the pattern it is easy and looks like a good one to use up scraps of material and when it is all done it looks like you went to a lot of work. It is a beautiful square that you then just bump up together and sew or zig zag together. The foot ball looking pattern in the center is the edging for the finished quilt and the blocks are made by folding down the circle sides over the square in the middle. Have fun and a great day. I am about 1/3 of the way through with the last pattern that I posted. It seems that it is going quickly since it is the same pattern over and over till I get to the edge. There is a church talent show on Frisday night and I will just have to take some of the smaller dollies that I have completed lately like the above. Thanks for viewing.  This post contains affiliate link.

Folder Christmas 3-d snowflakes

Image
I made these crochet snowflakes to sell at a craft fair. They didn't sell very well till after the show. I sold about 8 at the show and then when I took one to an ornement exchange party for Christmas I had people call me to buy sets of them. I will make more for Christmas 2008 and give away one here and there and get orders for after Christmas. This is another pattern saved

Crochet Table Cloth Pattern

Image
I just finished this Crocheted tablecloth for my parents anniversary coming up in March. It is from Magic Crochet that was published in 1983. I love the graphics and hope to find a program that will convert old patterns into graphic patterns. I have hundreds of patterns from my Grandmothers that I hope to save by posting them on this blog. Let me know what you think. I hope that you can use this.         I really like Aunt Lydias thread.  It is of the best quality.  I buy it on Amazon for the quantity I need.         Also help in my crocheting is a hand free magnifying  glass.  This one shown is the one I got on Amazon.

My New Blog on Crocheting
